The IDM runs a range of initiatives to introduce students to the direct, data and digital marketing profession. Participation in industry programmes gives students an edge over others when applying for jobs.
National Student Marketing Competition
The IDM Student Marketing Competition…it gets you noticed!! You’ll tackle a live marketing brief for a well-known brand, and if you’re a finalist, you get to pitch your ideas direct to the client and attend an awards ceremony. There are cash prizes too for the winners. The 2011/12 challenge has been set by BMW and their agency Partners Andrews Aldridge.
Certificate in Direct and Digital Marketing Principles (Cert DMP)
Gaining a professional qualification whilst at university gives you a head start in your career and is a great boost for your CV. It demonstrates to employers an area of expertise on top of your marketing or business degree. If you’re studying a direct marketing module, then all you need to do is pass a 3-hour written examination. Applications are accepted online.
IDM Membership (Student category)
As a student member you can get a significant head start in the knowledge you need to support your studies and to embark on your career. You’ll have online access to the IDM’s international journal Interactive Marketing, E-bulletins giving regular insight and best practice updates, not forgetting the latest job vacancies viewable on the Jobs Noticeboard.
